Things to know BEFORE you shoot this video.........
The video must be a demonstration of something. You may decide where in the Salt Lake City area you would like to shoot your video. It must be a “show and tell” type of thing. No lectures of watching someone just talk. The video shoot is casual, informal and really fun to do. You'll feel at ease with the cameraman which helps you have fun doing what you do best.
When the cameraman arrives be prepared to do the following. Block out time to do the shoot (generally 60 - 90 minutes)Turn off your cell phone If necessary post a "Do Not Disturb" sign so you can focus on the shoot. Focus on shooting a one-minute segment. You have time between segments to look at your notes and quickly get set up for the segment. We need to shoot a minimum of 25 1-minute segments of what you are demonstrating.
Have props, visual aids, tools and/or equipment ready in advance. The camera guy doesn't want to waste your time or his. A basic outline should be prepared BEFORE you do the shoot so you know what points to hit during the shoot. Several Sample Scripts/Outlines are posted on the right.
ABOUT YOUR BIO: The first thing you'll shoot is your BIO. It doesn't count as part of the 25 segments. The BIO is pretty fun - just brag about yourself for up to 1 minute. Talk about your skills, talents and experience with regards to the subject you are shooting. Try to use KEY descriptive words in your BIO. These words are helpful when people search online.

How to Write a Basic Outline/Script for your Video
Before we shoot your video, it needs to have at least 25 one-minute segments. You need to jot down a basic outline of what you'll be covering when you shoot the video. It can be just a few words to remind you of what you're talking about. I have some scripts/outlines that we've done posted on the right. These videos are informal and casual yet very informative.
